Lucas Oil Stadium was developed by the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority, a group of civic and business leaders appointed by the Governor of Indiana and the Mayor of Indianapolis.
The stadium was designed by HKS of Dallas, Texas, with significant assistance from local design firms such as A2S04 and Browning Day Mullins Dierdorf of Indianapolis and other Indiana design and engineering consultants.
The floor is 92,260 sq. ft. in size and 25' below street level. Retractable and removable seating and swing space adds 46,250 sq. ft. of exhibit space when it is needed.
There are 137 luxury suites ranging from mini to super size located on three levels. There are 8 field level suites which are the closest suites to the field in NFL and provide a unique experience for any fan. There is also a 200 seat Quarterback Suite featuring a custom horseshoe bar. Finally, two 30,000 sq. ft. multi-level lounges are also part of Lucas Oil Stadium's impressive array of luxury suites.
The plaza has approximately 24,000 sq. ft. of useable space and is located at street level.

It remains open unless there are hazardous conditions (lightning, severe winds, precipitation, low temperatures, etc.). Once the decision has been made to close the roof it may not be reopened.
