DOING BUSINESS. GROWING BUSINESS.

It is the goal of the National Football League that minority and women-owned businesses have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl procurement process. The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority and women-owned businesses access to procurement opportunities. Every year, the NFL makes a positive economic impact in the Super Bowl host cities.

The NFL Emerging Business Program has become an important component of the overall impact by building direct links between the NFL and minority and women-owned businesses.

THE SUPER BOWL EMERGING BUSINESS PROGRAM OBJECTIVES INCLUDE:
  • Inform minority and woman-owned businesses of available opportunities surrounding the Super Bowl
  • Provide business development education, training, and programming that reflects the needs of the local business community
  • Work with minority and woman-owned businesses to forge local connections benefitting business development and growth in connection with Super Bowl 2012 and beyond
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Doing Business
  • Annually, the NFL works directly with experienced contractors, event planners, sponsors and affiliated groups to determine their business needs in preparation for the execution of each Super Bowl event.
  • The NFL will work with the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee, civic groups, government, and approved certification agencies to create a database of local minority and women-owned businesses which will be screened and compiled into an online Business Resource Guide. This resource will be made available to all NFL-affiliated contractors, sponsors and Super bowl – related groups.
  • Each year, the NFL and Host Committee conduct a series of workshops focused on preparing for and doing Super Bowl business as well as reinforcing the long-term (legacy) components of actively participating in the program.
Growing Business (Super Bowl Playbook Workshop Series)
  • The NFL will work with civic groups, government, approved certification agencies and the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee to identify areas of need to support business development.
  • The NFL will work with the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee, local small businesses, government, and approved certification agencies to execute a series of business development workshops prior to Super Bowl.
