The Indianapolis 2012 Super Bowl Bid Committee is initially composed of four groups, all committed to preparing a winning bid and planning for the game over the next five years.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors provides leadership and vision to the bid effort, bringing together government, civic and private sector leadership. The Board is co-chaired by Governor Mitch Daniels, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, and Jim Irsay of the Colts. Mark Miles, President of the Bid Committee, also serves on the Board of Directors.
Community Advisory Council
The Community Advisory Council includes a wide spectrum of leaders representing local non-profits, civic organizations and neighborhood groups. Community input is critical to a successful bid, and the Advisory Council will be an important avenue for this input along with our online and other public outreach efforts.
Business Advisory Council
The Business Advisory Council, co-chaired by Eli Lilly & Company President John Lechleiter and Cathy Langham of Langham Logistics, is the voice of the corporate community in the bid process. The Business Advisory Council is also responsible for generating private sector financial support for the bid and our local expenses for the Super Bowl itself.
Local Bid Committee
The Local Bid Committee is made up of individuals with relevant event management, sports industry and competitive bidding expertise. This working group is responsible for creating the specific plans, budgets and bid materials that will be submitted to the NFL, working with the Board of Directors and other committees to execute a winning strategy. The Local Bid Committee is chaired by Jack Swarbrick of Baker & Daniels.
