Support and participation in the development of Indianapolis' Super Bowl bid winning effort was not limited to local civic and business leaders. A special role was created for some of Central Indiana's young student achievers. In line with the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee's ultimate goal of developing future civic leaders, 32 Central Indiana eighth graders were selected based on their academic achievement and citizenship by their school district superintendents to participate in the Student Ambassadors program. For their first assignment, Student Ambassadors were outfitted in NFL team jerseys and flown to NFL cities to personally deliver the Indianapolis Super Bowl package to team owners. It was the first of what will be many memorable and rewarding experiences for the Student Ambassadors. They will remain involved as representatives of the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee and participate in related developmental programs and community service efforts through 2012 when they will be seniors in high school. This initiative reflects the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee's commitment to the personal development and growth of today's student achievers and tomorrow's future leaders. OUR2012SB.com would like to introduce the Student Ambassadors to you by highlighting their participation in the bid delivery effort and showcasing personal achievements to date.
